Quick Cabbage and Cute Chicks

In four days, the Savoy cabbage is already sprouting. It must be in a hurry for Spring.

And in four weeks, the chicks have quadrupled in size. Here they are huddling in a corner when I lifted the cover off their box. Even though we fool with them every day, they still get in an uproar every time we change their water, add feed, or otherwise disturb life in the box.

In another week or so we'll be moving them outside to the chicken house. We hope to get some turkey poults at the end of the month, and we'll raise them the same way, starting inside and then moving them out when they're big enough.
