  1. I can no longer watch TV news or morning talk shows, listen to radio news, read newspapers, etc. I have lost all faith in our entire establishment. The only thing I trust for news events are the friends that I have made online that are living those news events. It's easier to find the truth when you have enough personal contact with the reporter to better analyze the report.

  2. There is a follow-up to "Children of the Mountains" on 20/20 that will air this Friday (2/21) at 10pm.

Let's hope it is better than the last one.

  4. Apparently, some of you are in denial of what is going on in your own backyards. I applauded her reporting. Why? Because it needed to be said and seen by the country. Yes, the situations are real. Yes, poverty exists, drugs, drinking, homelessness, joblessness- but when someone discusses Appalachia -we're to blame for our own problems, or, the reporter is accused of embellishing the story. Inner city kids are considered victims, rural kids are exploited. Wake up people! I live in West Virginia, born and raised and I see it every day. It's about time we receive the attention we need.
