Auction Day

And my word, did we make it count. The truck is full, front and back. This will probably be our only auction this month, because we broke the bank but we came home with great stuff for our inventory, some needed furniture pieces to sell and some unique items that I hope will be good sellers. It was a fun time, especially seeing the other sellers we've come to know during the past few months.

I have no photos yet, but I will take some tomorrow to show you a few of our finds. Best buys, I think, were the serpentine front oak dresser and the silverplate over copper tilt teapot on a stand with a warming burner under it. I really did not expect to be able to get either but the bids stayed within my range.

Tonight thne truck remains loaded. We're too tired to unload, and it's not a good idea to do it in the dark and on the icy driveway anyway. But tomorrow...I think we'll have a lot of fun going through the box lots and checking out what I hope were some very good buys.

  1. mercy sakes (as my dear grandmother would say) I think I'll get in the car and come help you unload tomorrow. lol What fun! With an auction like this, you have fun twice -- buying it and then the next day, re-discovering what you bought!
