Anniversary dates are always difficult. Tomorrow, September 4,  would have been my Jon's 44th birthday. I still miss and grieve for him every day. Sometimes I need to read this poem and remember its wise words.

Celtic Prayer
For All Who Grieve
Do not hurry
as you walk in grief.
It does not help the journey.

Walk slowly,
pausing often.
Do not hurry
as you walk in grief.

Do not be disturbed
by memories that come unbidden.
Swiftly forgive unspoken words.

Be not disturbed
be gentle with the one
who walks in grief.

If it is you
be gentle with yourself.
Swiftly forgive.
Walk slowly,
pausing often.

Take time,
be gentle

as you walk with grief.

  6. Be easy. I would tell my children. Be Gentle. I am thinking parents may not teach that to their children nowadays. I like that poem. Do no hurry; be gentle. Thinking of you at this time.
