I just haven't tried it in ...I suppose I still can. I just haven't tried it in a long time. It's a very strange feeling when the dowsing rod begins to quiver and bend, even though you're doing nothing to make it act that way.

When we needed a well drilled, an old man came and dowsed for us. We drilled where he said but didn't hit good water. However, he had told us it wasn't a very good site, and showed us where he thought was best, which was an impossible place to drill.

Then he showed me how to hold the peach stick and look for water myself. I did it and it was just amazing to feel the stick move in my hands. I hit on the same places he did, or very close by. I saw what he meant by the difference in the two sites--the impossible one was so strong it nearly pulled the stick from my hands.

When we drilled our current well, we did not dowse for it. I was in college, working and had a baaby so I was barely aware of the drilling process. That well was so deep, I don't know if a dowser would have found water there anyway! It's 730 feet deep. but our driller has been known to be able to locate water so perhaps he dowsed it. I never thought to ask, and truthfully forgot about it until I was listing the 6 things.Granny Suehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01129064020727041161noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2634969979683449053.post-18008390473799114942008-11-18T12:25:00.000-05:002008-11-18T12:25:00.000-05:00Why can't you still douse for water?
