It's very popular right now & I've seen some really fun printed burlap. My daughter-in-law has a really cute set she bought from a shop like yours where the chairs are upholstered in a coffee print. I don't think the mustardy yellow would work well as a contrasting paint, though.--Mario R.JJMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13404985455733545060noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2634969979683449053.post-21812840288688090642014-02-18T14:19:45.294-05:002014-02-18T14:19:45.294-05:00It's a very outspoken red, so I'd advise a...It's a very outspoken red, so I'd advise a contrasting fabric rather than a fabric that tries to match its colour. The black and white daisies, if you're limiting to these fabrics, might work, but the daisies just aren't bold enough to hold their own, and I'm not that thrilled by the white. What would work best, I think, is something like a yellowy brownish mustard-like colour. It'd be bold, but -- well, give it a thought. Failing that, black (with possibly a small pattern in it) would work, and lend a dramatic flair. --Mario R.JJMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13404985455733545060noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2634969979683449053.post-16869112415534038502014-02-18T14:17:57.769-05:002014-02-18T14:17:57.769-05:00I think that Quinn is right--I need to keep lookin...I think that Quinn is right--I need to keep looking until something really jumps out at me. It can't be expensive because I plan to ask $20 or less for the chairs I'm painting--they're meant to be affordable, fun, surprising elements that most people can afford to take home. So, on with the hunt!<br /><br />(P.S. I liked the old floral print best myself, but thought that might limit the kind of places/decor the chair would fit with.
