The German Blessing

Wrapped in plastic and hard to see, but here is the German blessing embroidery I will give to Matthew (who often leaves comments on my blog) tomorrow. Be jealous--we're going to lunch together and I am seriously looking forward to it!

Check out his blog for stories of growing up in a remote area of West Virginia, complete with old-time photos.

  4. A rough translation of the German house blessing is "Wherein I live, lives the throne of God."

Some of the old German words are no longer in common use.

This is a treasure!! I have big plans for this and will post about it when I get it rehabbed!

Thanks again, Susanna. You're the best!
