Winter Etheree

Re-using yesterday's photo with today's poem:

light
muted
pale pastel
under piled white
mounds on greenery
scented pine and hemlock
coated with white snow frosting
Solstice fire gleams in tiny flames
as candles beam their delicate light
across a landscape frozen, mute, serene

  5. I love it! And I think this is the greatest photo. Can you tell me what it is exactly? And the poem is wonderful, too! When you center it, is it shaped like a Christmas tree?

I'm here to see you because last year your posts made Christmas seem so homey. Wishing you a warm holiday season, Sue!

  6. Thank you, Rowan and Nanu. Let's all hope for a serene holiday.

BW, this is out in my yard. There are some small spirea bushes that we put lights on every year. With the snow on top, they look like a lumpy frosted cake with colored sprinkles. It fascinates me every year.

  8. EW, if you try this form, let me know. I'd like to read it. I like the etheree for its form and disciplined use of syllables. Have a joy-filled Christmas.
