Lights On!
Finally! We've got electricity again. When we returned home the house was 93 degrees and we were collecting clothes to spend the night at my son's house. Then we noticed a night light was on. What a surprise!
I did not want to leave the house for the night; it's odd how I felt like I needed to be there to protect it or...something. I stayed last night and it was manageable but I knew that I could not do it again when it was that hot inside.
So now we start the return to normal or what passes for it on this hill. We are letting the stuff in the freezer re-freeze and will dispose of it later. It seemed like a safer and more practical way to deal with all the spoilage and potential bacteria, etc. The freezer itself will be taken to salvage; after all that bad food was in it I am not comfortable with using it again, and it's in poor condition anyway. Add to the to-buy list.
Thank you all for riding along on this saga. I am keeping my fingers crossed that gthe next round of predicted storms does not materialize, or if they do, do not take down the many hanging branches and uprooted trees and put us back in the dark.

It must be s real relief to have power again and be able to start getting back to normal. What a shame that all the food in the freezer and fridge has gone to waste. I didn't know that more storms have been predicted, let's hope that they don't materialize this time.
