Surrounded by Flowers

My flowerbeds aren't exotic or fancy; most of my flowers are old-time varieties dug from yards of old houses or given to me by friends. They're hardy and dependable (just like old houses and old friends, come to think of it). This summer the bloom seems prettier than ever, though. Recent pics from around the gardens:


Above, a tiger stalks tonight...oh wait, it's only Soldier.

Volunteer sunflowers below, planted by the birds.





Bee balm, or bergamot, whichever you choose. The bees love it, and so do I, for its fragrance and color.


The flowerpot painted by granddaughters at least ten years ago. Now they're all grown up. Sigh.






There's that tiger again!
