I must have been a lot more interesting in those early blog days, since so many of these are from 2007-2010! One thing I have learned is that clear wording in the title makes it easier for a post to come up in google searches, and these are all fairly short, specific titles. And of course, any newer posts will have a hard time gaining ground on the ones that have been out there for years.
Funnily enough, the keyword that has brought the most readers is mincemeat! 2130 people got here by searching for mincelemt. Now, who would have thought that? Thankfully, the second is "granny sue" with 1957 searches. Although it does seem a bit odd to be second place to mincemeat, I am glad to know people are looking for me.
Probably this is interesting to no one but me, but I find such statistics fascinating. When I was a librarian, I waited eagerly for the monthly circulation statistics for my branch, just to see how we did and to compare them to past years. For libraries, circ stats are equal to profit margins for businesses so you always want to see some increase. I can't say that blogging is comparable, since I do this mainly for the pleasure of it. This blog has been like a personal journal for the past 9 years and through it I've met many interesting people and learned a lot too, as I research topics to write about.
