Thankful Thursday

Taking a moment to look back at my week and appreciate the small surprises.

Like the Dove chocolates my husband brought me, just because he knew I like dark chocolate but never buy it for myself.

And the book launch party, which surprised me by the number of people who came even though the weather was terrible. We had such a good time. What a gift.

Snow--beautiful, soft, just enough to cover the ground but not enough to cause problems.

A call from my mail carrier, to apologize for missing my package pickup. He was training a new sub, and I know from personal experience how difficult that can be. Especially in the holiday season. What a nice thing, though, to call and apologize. He's one of the best.

Another call from a garden club, wanting to know if I could come next week to tell stories for their holiday meeting. Grateful for the opportunity to do something with a different twist--focusing on the folklore, carols and traditions of Christmas greenery.

Last but not least, realizing how blessed I am to have so many friends and family as I addressed the Christmas cards for this year. I may not see these people often, but they are always on my mind and in my heart.
