A cold, wet, foggy day, starting out at 35 and not getting a great deal warmer. The old saying is a January fog will freeze a hog. And a February fog means frost in May. I feel pretty sure that this will hold true this year, or at least that the fruit blossom will get frosted because it is simply too warm too early. The big maple in front of the house is already budding out, and will surely get zapped a few times before the frost danger is past.

I finally finished up this little desk today.

I had thought to put a mirror with it and make it a dressing table, but none of the (many) mirror in my stash looked right with it, so off it will go as a desk. I've listed it on Facebook Marketplace for now because we have zero space for anything new in our booths. We'll see how it goes.

I am afraid I've not been very productive today. The usual housework, some ebay listings, a little painting. I did make some chicken noodle soup. It's funny about that: I roasted a chicken on Saturday so Larry would have something to eat while I was working at my booth. I had some of it for dinner that evening too. Larry made sandwiches the next day, and we again had chicken for dinner. Today I used what was left of the bird to make chicken salad and a huge pot of soup. That one chicken has provided a lot of meals--and snacks too because my man is not above grabbing a chunk in between meals!

I got a few onions from the cellar, and am happy to see how well our homegrown onions are holding up. These are probably the best storage onions I've ever had. I think it might be because we hung them from the cellar rafters this time instead of piling them in a basket. We've lost a few, but not nearly as many as in past years.

The other thing that occupied a little bit of my time is this:

Glass Lovers Event
Saturday, February 15
from 1-3 PM.
Bring your glassware to Lml Antiques and Yesterday’s Antiques Coins & Collectibles where glassware experts will be on hand to help identify your vintage and antique glass pieces.
Customers can enter to win a glassware prize.
Lml Riverbend is located at 219 Washington St. and Yesterday's Antiques, Coins & Collectibles is located at 224 Washington St. in Ravenswood.

I'll be there with books and laptop to help ID glass, and I'll be joined by two friends who know a lot more than I do--and Robin over at Yesterday's Antiques Shop will be doing the same over at her shop. I'm looking forward to this. I think it will be fun, and I know I'll learn a lot in the process of helping others.

I feel like I'm taking too long a break from storytelling so next week I will be back to work on that part of my life, researching stories and creating promo pieces for Summer Reading and maybe something else. I got a message today from a state park asking about ghost stories for this Fall, and I think that nudged me to get busy again.
