Covid Journal, Day 69: Masks and Finds

52 and no rain for a change, at least in the morning. Later in the afternoon a strong thunderstorm moved through, soaking already saturated ground.

We took some things to our Ravenswood booth, which took most of the day. That was fine with me since I planned to do nothing else. Only 2 people we saw were wearing masks, which confirms my belief that it is not safe yet to be out and about very much. Fortunately we were able to stay away from anyone. Just did our work and left.

There have been no new cases of the virus here in our county for several days, and people seem to think the danger is over here. It's not, of course.

I haven't been out thrifting since the lockdown, but the Ravenswood antique mall is holding weekly online sales events, and I've found a few things there. I've also sold quite a bit in the sales, so I guess it's a trade-off. But fun! So here's what I've bought.

This pretty teapot is by W.S. George potteries in East Liverpool, OH. It will be my teapot for June, I think.
Goofus glass was popular at the turn of the century. It's basically a piece of glass with painted applied. Usually gold with red, there are of course lots of variations in color of paint and even in the color of the glass. This bowl is green glass under the paint.
Fiestaware pitchers by Homer Laughlin of West Virginia's northern panhandle, is ever popular. I will probably re-sell this on eBay.
Aluminum press by Wear-Ever will also go on eBay.
I have admired this dragon teapot for a long while. It had no lid though. The mall owner gave it to me! I have no idea what to do with it, but I will figure it out.
Lovely little music box is destined for a great granddaughter.
This typewriter wasn't a sale find. It's been in the workroom for 2 years, waiting for me to clean it up. It doesn't work but would make a great display piece.

So not too many new things but it was fun to take part in the online events. I will post a link to the next one so you can join in if you're curious. She does ship!
