Covid Journal, Day 319: February

31 and snowing again this morning. Yesterday's melted in the rain, so today we had a fresh cover. More snow expected all day, although it won't amount to much.

So pretty outside today, the little bit of snow clinging to the wet trees just makes a beautiful scene.

It's the first, so Rabbit, Rabbit, Rabbit! Be sure to say it for good luck and money this month. You never know, it just might work.

I've put out my Valentine's Day decorations. I never did it last year, because they're stored high up and need a ladder to get them down. I get dizzy on ladders so don't go up them unless absolutely necessary, and this time last year Larry was recovering from knee replacement. But this year he was able to get them for me. I will be storing them in a different place from now on--in one of those suitcases I stacked to make a table. They'll be much more accessible there. I've already stored away Christmas cards for next year in one of the suitcases. I really like this idea, and am thinking I will make another stack in the log room for more storage.

I treated myself to some fresh carnations when we went grocery shopping last week. Sadly, they're already finished but they live on in my photos.

I made this collage a few years ago with vintage valentines and a doily.

The little stone hearts have been gifts from friends over the years.

In the log room, I displayed my collection of vintage valentines.

And on my dressser, an antique dish with pretties in it, plus a piece of pink quartz.

On top of the suicases, a Blenko heart paperweight I bought some years ago.

And here's the suitcase stack. The little horse is currently listed on eBay. I've had it in my booths for years with no buyer, so I'm trying a different tack.

I've listed these vintage valentines on eBay too, but if they don't sell they'll just go in my collection. There's something so sweet about them.

Are you planning anything special for Valentine's day? I think I'll make a cake. It's been a long while since I've made one, and Larry dearly loves a chocolate cake. That will probably be the extent of the excitement here, I'm afraid. The virus still has us staying home most of the time, and never going out to eat. But that's fine; we have everything we need, and I am grateful for that.

Oh, and here's the view from this morning. Still snowing now, but it's not really amounting to anything. Just pretty as can be.
