Cass Again: Inside the Company House

64 this morning, cool and pretty with a light fog. Nice day ahead.

I  thought you might like to see the inside of the company house we stayed in at Cass.

This is the entrance, coming in from the porch.

The living room. That is one comfy rocker.

The kitchen is pretty nice, although the range is electric. But nice big double sink, a dishwasher which we didn't use, good-sized fridge and granite counter tops. Or maybe granite look-alike.

The dining area, looking into the living room.

Larry's bedroom. He didn't make his bed, bad man. Since there were three bedrooms, we each had our own room. With one to spare. It was kinda nice, actually.

My room. It had two beds.

I loved the old floor grate. It reminded me of my  childhood home, where we had the same in the upstairs bedrooms. These allow the heat from downstairs to come up.

This odd angled wall covers up the old fireplaces, which were set in at an angle. I wonder if the bedrooms had fireplaces, though, since they had the floor grates. This may have just covered the chimney?

The other side of my room.

I forgot to take photos of the bathroom, which was also really nice, with a large shower with a clear enclosure and sliding door.

This was just a nice place to stay--a vintage feel but with modern conveniences.

  1. Beautiful house! I loved that floor grate. Sure did remind me of our old home and childhood.

  2. I've seen those floor grates with oil free standing furnaces somewhere right in the downstairs, usually a nook in a hallway. Never lived with one though. Such a nice place to stay for you all.
