Tea Time

45 and raining, overcast.

So here we go into January, and into 2022. Yesterday was a nice, restful day for us; today I'm working at the antique mall and Larry is coming along to just hang out with his friends there. I like it when he comes with me, because sometimes there are heavy things to move, and I sure appreciate his help. Plus, he can go for coffee, always an important consideration.

Speaking of coffee, here's my teacup and teapot for this month. Funny how on thing can remind us of another.

I love the painted scene on the cup, so delicate. The teapot isn't anything really special but I like its shape and it holds just enough tea for 3 cups, my usual morning amount. The old canisters were a gift to myself a couple months ago. They're Kreamer brand, made in the 30's. The lids are hinged, which is very handy.

I put away the Christmas teapot and cup yesterday, and chose these to get me through January, and who knows, maybe longer? I was drinking English tea again for a while there, but I'm back to my lemon-ginger, which I like very much--and it doesn't need sugar or milk, so less calories.

I've pretty much put away all the Christmas items in our booths, except for a few things. We took in about 6 totes of Christmas plus some trees, and came home with one large one with the trees in it which weren't for sale, and about a tote and a half of other things, so we did very well selling Christmas-themed items this year, much better than in past years. Tomorrow, or maybe later today, I'll post photos of the changes we made in the booths over the past week.

For now, time to get ready to go. My bet is that we'll have travelers in today, returning home from Chrstmas break.

  1. My grandmother had tea cups similar to the one you're showing. These days that is way too small for me, my cups are a lot bigger. :)
