34 this morning, and another clear day. High of about 60. Many gunshots early in the day as hunters took advantage of this good weather.
Today we were back to canning. This time, venison. This was pretty much an all-day job, and we ended up with 19 quarts of meat, and 2 large kettles of bone broth that are still cooking.
A bright spot in the day was a visit from our neighbors, who came over to show us their granddaughter, their first grandchild. She is aboutv3 months old now and such a sweet little black-haired thing. Babies seem more and more precious as I get older!
Tomorrow we will start our cooking and preparation for our delayed Thanksgiving. I will be making pies tomorrow, always a favorite thing to do. I am glad to have this extra day, since we had that deer to prepare.
