It was cold all day yesterday, never getting above 0 all afternoon and night. But this morning it was 2, and is now 10. The wind is still blowing but not as fiercely, and light snow, or maybe it's just frozen moisture in tbe air?--has been blowing around all day.

The house smells wonderfully of mincemeat tarts and cherry pie. I am finally getting around to cooking for Christmas. It has been so odd not to be a baking fool this month, but I am saving money and calories by not doing that. Planning this meal seems so simple! A buffet-style table with ham, salads, rolls, cheeses, and things that we can nibble all afternoon.
Not much news really, just staying warm, taking care of our critters, and taking things as they come.
