30 this morning, with a heavy frost and clear sky.
It has been one busy week. I stayed home for 6 days straight and got so much done. I canned black beans, split pea soup, and garbanzo beans, painted furniture, got in some garden work, attended the poetry group zoom workshop,, and just puttered around the house. Yesterday we helped redo the large display window at the antique mall, then redid our own window as well. I took out most of the Christmas items but ran out of time and need to go back to finish up.
Today we were on the road, to North Central West Virginia, to pick up a load of auction buys and have a good visit with our son Aaron and his family. He showed us around this huge old post office building he is helping to renovate into office space and apartments. But in 1950, the buildi v has so many beautiful architectural features! I am so glad it is being renovated and not torn down.
Larry loved these holding cells. Tbe building was a courthouse apparently as well as a post office.
On our way home we went to the evening visitation for our friend Mike who passed away earlier this week. He was so well loved that the visitations and funeral are being held in the high school gym---very fitting for this man who was a Ripley Viking through and through.
The sky was beautiful for the drive home,
and after the visitation we followed the moon to our ridge and home.
Now we are resting in our favorite chairs. A good day, but tired? Yes, we are. See you tomorrow!
Busy at-home days, then visiting as well as vistitation! Whew, yes indeed, time to put your feet up!
ReplyDeleteIt must have felt great to put your feet up after a busy day.
