56°f this morning, crisp fall air.
Leaves are really falling now. It is so beautiful outside. I am mostly enjoying it from the porch or the log room, and on trips to PT to let strangers play with my leg. I wish it were just play! But progress is slowly happening, so the pain is worth it. I guess.
Yesterday was another rough day, mostly due to no sleep, but last night I did much better and was up doing laundry and cooking today. Squash casserole and banana bread, yum. This wasn't one of Angie's fabulous banana bread recipes, but I did use our black walnuts in it.
At PT as I write this, waiting my turn. Hoping for more progress!
Glad to read you are having some progress. Wishing you better sleep!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteWhat a beautiful first photo - it looks like a painting!
ReplyDeleteI do hope that your pain will ease and give you some respite. I am arthritic and know all too well how aching bones can wreck a good night's sleep!
Oh yes, arthritis is my constant companion too, and the reason for this knee replacement. I commiserate with you.
Delete...this looks like a beautiful day, I wish you many to come.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tom.
DeleteSquash casserole...oh my that looks and sounds so good! I've got a nice Candy Roaster that was meant to be enjoyed mid-Winter, but I dropped it on the kitchen floor and am now wondering if it may be bruised inside, and best eaten right away.
ReplyDeleteIt is so delicious, Quinn! I have never had a candy roaster. Sounds interesting!
DeleteIt's looking fine there. We went by a tree in the park just a couple of days ago. I thought it would soon be good to shoot -- plenty of leaves but seeing branches too. Today it was almost bare. It happened so quickly.
ReplyDeleteYes, some years the leaves just don't hold on for very long after they change color.
DeleteI've never heard of a squash casserole before, but I've been looking at recipes. It sounds delicious.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you got better quality sleep and actually felt up to laundry and cooking! I've decided that tomorrow me and my fat foot are going to go out and about. I'll have to wear big slippers that my foot will fit into but so be it.
ReplyDeleteSue, your banana bread looks tender and very moist. Black walnuts sound absolutely wonderful. p.s you have asked about where to get the hemp seeds and oil...most of our large supermarkets and all the wholefood stores have them, but you can find them from Amazon.
ReplyDeleteFall is a great time of year. Best wishes for ongoing improvements in your mobility and freedom from pain.
ReplyDeleteWish I´d known you a long time ago. They played with my arm, too...
ReplyDeleteTo progress and yummy food!
Your creativity in cooking just is so inspirational...well, for eating of something similar anyway, if not for actually cooking myself.
ReplyDeleteI have heard that a knee replacement is very painful. I'm glad you're making progress, even if it's not as fast as you would like. We have had black walnuts several places I have lived, but I don't like them. We were always happy to share them with anyone who wanted them.
ReplyDeleteYou will progress and, long term, thank yourself for doing this. Or so I feel about my two mechanical knees. I did an exercise program yesterday, washed all the underwear and household linens, cooked a stir fry (much standing at the counter and chopping) and my knees were quite happy.
ReplyDeleteJust had to stop by and say how lovely the Autumn colours are in your photographs.
ReplyDeleteAlso your bread looks delicious.
Sending healing thoughts and good wishes.
All the best Jan
Wishing you another fantastic day and less pain. I love the road view with all the beautiful trees.
ReplyDeleteI hope your visit helps and that the pain you feel lessens each day. Your banana bread looks wonderful:)
ReplyDeleteThat casserole (hot dish, where I come from) makes my mouth water. Well, so does the banana bread. And I just bought some greenish bananas today so maybe . . .
ReplyDeleteGlad you're sticking with the P.T. It will pay off in the end.
Ugh, that cannot be easy, but hopefully the pain and effort is worth it!
