Almost Wordless Wednesday

52°f/11°C, clear, expecting a high of 77°f/25°C. Yuck, too hot too fast.

Photos from our drive to Huntington yesterday.

I wonder what this little building was used for?

Can you see the old house hidden in the trees?

Laying down on the job.

This place has always intrigued me. It was abandoned but then someone started fixing it up.

Painted on a barn near the VA hospital.

Retired?

Different barns

Last pictured covered in snow on January 20, 2025.

And one from today, in town. Not our truck, but I guess he got hit with the mud rain last weekend too.

This woman gives blondes a bad name. (Have you noticed DR'S preference for blondes?)

  1. I spent a couple of Christmases in Huntington W Va, 1983/84ish, my cousin was a doctor at the hospital there. I like your red barn photos, all barns should be red, except the lovely pale blue one that I pass on the way to Older Son's house, great colour in the snow!

  2. Love seeing the old houses and barns. We had rain mud here, too, and it's easy to see whose car was in a garage and whose isn't. :)

  3. Once I enlarged that second picture I saw the old house.

  4. Fun photos, thanks. I envy you your snowless field. We still have a foot or so to melt. And, yes, I know Canada is supposed to be metric. I am still confused by it.

  5. I love seeing your drive. Radio Feeds -- like that!

  6. I didn't figure out Radio Feeds until the second photo...no radios involved, just feed products. I'm admittedly not a country gal.

  7. What an interesting name for a feed company!

  8. That big white house is so compelling. And may I tuck your photo of the enormous red barn in my file to paint some day, with your permission...?

  9. I was wondering about the radio, too. And that I´m reading this on Friday - the week sped by again!

  10. I'd love to drive a WV road right now. The Ozarks are pretty similar but without the tall mtns.

I love Karoline Leavitt. She's poised, well spoken, doesn't stumble over her words & knows what she stands for. She's very tough to be so young & still be able to stand up to such hard criticism. If the press secretary were a man, people would be yelling about how Trump doesn't hire women...instead, they make fun of her because she's blonde because that's all they can find to criticize. She is definitely no pushover. I saw this video on Youtube & loved it.
