July 1

Happy Canada Day to my Canadian friends and relatives!

Oh, and rabbit rabbit rabbit!

It has been a lovely thunder-y rainy day, much needed. We stocked booths today, and picked up milk and butter. Maddie the milk girl was pretty shook up when we met with her at the VFW. She'd hydroplaned on the way to town and wrecked her truck. Poor girl, what a scare. She's okay, and we've offered her our truck to use if needed.

Tonight we may go to open mic, if I can drag Larry out. We shall see!

  3. Thank you for your greetings, we love Canada Day! And I always say Rabbits on the first of the month too. Always the first word out of my mouth.

  4. We were gone for the record breaking heat. We had someone doing watering. The plants either got burned or grew like crazy.

  6. A wonderful thunderstorm hit here late this afternoon. We were sitting out front (under an overhang) when a lightning bolt struck near enough to us that a huge thunderclap followed it immediately. Needless to say, we got a rush! But we stayed out until the rain let up. The ozone smell and the temperature drop were both marvelous here in drought-stricken Arizona.

  9. Hope you had a nice Canada Day -- just because we're here doesn't mean we can't celebrate. LOVE your rabbit image!

  11. You know, something I love at that new house is that you can hear a storm coming, echoing off the mountains. The storm by-passed us yesterday, but the breeze was wonderful and the acoustics can't be beat!

  12. Boone and Blowing Rock apparently got flooded from heavy rains yesterday. We didn't. I just heard thunder. Woke to gentle drizzle almost 4 hours worth, now seems the sun will win. Glad your milk source gal is ok, even if truck damaged. My son and wife buy milk raw also from the dairy people...and make their own yogurt.
