28°f/about -2°C when I got up. Snow started around 10am and is expected to continue all day, so we may get a few inches on top of what's still out there.
Baby Benjamin Daniel was born around 6pm yesterday, weighing a healthy 7 lbs 14 ounces! Kate and baby are doing well.
Yesterday as you know was one of those dreaded anniversaries, but all day I felt, not the terrible sadness of the past 15 such anniversaries, but the happy anticipation of something wonderful. And what can be more wonderful than birth? One granddaughter said she was sure our Jon had a hand in choosing this day, and I don't think she's wrong.

Congratulations! I'm glad you have some happy thoughts accompany the sad ones of this time.
ReplyDeleteFebruary 2nd will now be a day not only of sadness but also joy. I'm so glad baby Benjamin arrived safely.

ReplyDeleteWelcome, Daniel! Jon was an amazing person.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! How wonderful to have a new baby in the family!
ReplyDeleteMy comment disappeared. Congratulations, grandma! Wasn't Baby Ben an alarm clock? Very apt as he will be waking his parents regularly!
ReplyDeleteI just LOVE seeing people's bookshelves. I should do a post on that sometime. They're just darned fun and you have some interesting ones. I'm not sure what happened 15 years ago but it doesn't sound good and I'm so grateful you have some wonderful new life to celebrate on that day.
