This shy visitor was spotted running up our driveway two days ago. Yesterday, she was here again, in the field below the drive. Her behavior was very odd--she did not attempt to run when I stopped and took her picture. I wonder if she has a nest nearby?
I wonder why. When I opened the house door the other day, she ran, even though she was a long way away from me. But when I stopped the car almost right beside her, she didn't seem at all phased--even when I got out with the camera.

Teh turkeys up here do not seem to be afraid of cars. Even if you stop, they will not run. If you roll down the window, however...
