Next Venture: a New CD, or Maybe Two

Tonight I'll start on a project I've been putting off for 4 years--making a CD of my ghost stories. The stories should flow easily, since I've been telling them for years. If all goes well, I may make another CD of some of my other best tales. It's time to get some new stuff out there.

Stories on the CD will probably be The Greenbrier Ghost, Burnt House, and Wizard Clipp, and if there's time some of the shorter ghost stories I tell. And of course a couple ballads, probably Pretty Polly and another one, not yet decided which.

Keep your fingers crossed for me that recording goes well!

  1. Best of luck! Although I know recording can be a pain, I know how much fun it can be too. And how exciting it is when you're finished and you have a great product. Please be sure to let us know where we can order the new CD from!

  2. I'll be looking forward to the CD, and to your account of the process. I'd like to learn from you to perhaps make my next attempt easier and better . . .

  3. Mary, this time was so much easier. I'm more relaxed and I'm doing material that I have performed hundreds of times--even more than the material on the last CD. Bob has some new equipment that seems to work better too. EW laid down all the tracks in one night, tweaked a few places the second night. Now he's editing.

I want to take my time with this one and make it as good as it can possibly be. So it will be a little while in the making, but it will be worth the trouble, I think. I'm excited by what I've heard so far. And Bob is a perfectionist; he also does Bil Lepp's recordings so he knows the little quirks of recording spoken word as opposed to music.
