This is the interview I did with
Ellouise Schoettler for Montgomery County Cable TV last month. It was a fun experience, and while watching it I realized how easily one can make a mis-statement. It was 1975 when we moved to West Virginia, not 1995 as I said in the video! Can you believe that? I think it was a carryover in my mind from my earlier statement about beginning to tell stories in 1996. Too funny.
Well, Sue, I just watched the interview all through. Don't know what I was expecting to hear but certainly not about me! Thanks for the mention. If you want to find out more about your mother's early life you have to get in contact with Aunt Grace; she's about the only one left with memories of those days. Love that song too; it has echoes of many traditional British songs. Take care, Cousin.
ReplyDeleteSue...Thanks so much for giving me a glimmer of you & your life...Wish more people would see this.
ReplyDeleteOh Sue this was such a great interview. I listened all the way through & enjoyed every bit of it. Was your father's mother very angry with him for marrying your mother? :o)
ReplyDeleteI am surprised to hear that neither of your parents were West Virginians. You seem like someone with a WV heritage passed down for years. I do so love to read your blog. Thanks for sharing this with us.
-from a transplanted West Virginian in Arkansas - (I do suppose the Arkansas Ozark people are much like WV's though the terrain leaves something to be desired!)
