We got the big storm. It came while we were still in Pocahontas county and I knew it was a bad one. The wind was incredible; I stepped outside to watch and dust and grit p,astered me. I returned to the Opera House quickly! Inside the musicians played on even when the power went out and the storm wailed. No one left the xoncert. Why would they with such good music? There were trees down everywhere on our return to the motel and no power there either. Even so the music continu until four am and I think I was one of the last into ito bed. We came home to a yard full of huge limbs but fortunately little damage to the house or buildings. Larry has been clearing it away but the heat is intense so we're bot hurrying. The electricity is off and likely to be off for some time. We're managing fine. I may not be posting much; have to do it by cell phone. The satellite got knicked and may need repair. I hope all of you in the storm's path are okay. I see clouds banking this evening. And hope it will only be rain and not the terrible winds again.

  1. I am so sorry about your situation. Over the weekend, there has been so much bad weather. We need rain badly, but will do without it if it brings storms. Take care and be safe.

Hope the electric will be back on soon for you.
More storms possible for this Wednesday. Let's hope for the rain and no high winds.

  6. and we are dry and starting to be desperate for rain. There is a fire ban now and perhaps a Fireworks ban. I haven't confirmed that yet but that is the rumor. Wish we could share and distribute the rain where it is needed. I fear a drought; I know that is a product of being a child of Great Depression era parents. My folks related many memories from the 30s. Hope your electricity is on now! And that the story telling went well.
