Work Day

Forgot to check the morning temperature,  but we reached a high of 82°f! Possibly a record for this time of year.  Dry, dry, dry and breezy. Fire danger is high, and outdoor burning is banned.

Yesterday's PT numbers were not good so my assignment was to really work this leg. Which was impossible after I got home yesterday, I was in such pain after our little outing to the thrift store.  Ah me. It was a rough night and I was up at 5:30am today. But after ice, heat, and pain pills, I got to work and I do believe I made good progress.

If you are not familiar with the after-surgery requirements for a knee replacement,  basically the concern is to get the knee as straight as possible (extension, it's called) and bending as much bend as possible (flexion). Ideal is 0° extension and 120° flexion. Last week I got to -4° and 106°, which was right where I needed to be at 4 weeks. Well, yesterday I only had -5 and 95. So I had gone backwards. In my defense, the knee was miserably painful for some reason, and it took a lot of pain to even get those numbers.

Today I think I am back on track. We shall see tomorrow.

I looked at the bill for the well repair today, and was stunned. Larry had taken care of it last night so I didn't see the bill until today. Those 2 guys were here over 2 hours, and the labor charge was only $100! The pressure tank was over $400, and the rest was parts. I know who we will call in future for well repair.

I went for a walk again today, my usual up the driveway and back. There is always something new to see or changes to note.

I posted a photo of this same spot last week, but what a change a few thousand less leaves make! This is one area Larry brushhogged.

See anything interesting in this photo?

There it is! Chicken of the woods, that most delectable of wild mushrooms. Larry will cut it in the morning.

The spirea always looks so pretty in fall.

I spotted a few dandelions today, this one even making seeds.

Larry's signpost. There's another I forgot to photograph. Not sure where he got some of these, and I am not asking! I bought the Cuban baseball players sign in Little Havana in Miami.

Daisy, our 15 year old lab, is curious about who might live in that hole at the base of the Hickory tree.

The Shadow knows!

These last were taken this evening, the end of a pretty nice day.
