67°f/19°C, clear. Another hot day ahead. 88°f yesterday.
What a pleasure to find that we could see the sun come up over the lake from our motel! I was sure it would be somewhere behind us, as we were facing west, but apparently we were looking just enough easy-to-use to catch its early rays.
Town was quiet as we drove through to our breakfast destination, Mary's Kitchen. Such a pretty place, with a view of the lake from the porch, where we had breakfast. Corned beef hash! Rarely do I see that on a menu anymore. And served with marbled rye, on Fiesta Ware plates. Fiesta is made in West Virginia, so it's always a pleasure to see it in use in restaurants.
As we left town we decided to get a cup of coffee for the road. Nice little place, and check out this sign! Made me wish we'd eaten there!
I was sorry to leave Geneva. The place had given me just what I needed, and I wouldn't have minded more of it! Simple pleasures, in an old-style summer resort. We will go back, or at least go somewhere similar along Lake Erie. I left a piece of my heart there.
Next stop: a bridge with a glass floor.
