I was up far too early yesterday, after a very rest-less night. 4:30 am made me think of Jim going hunting, and AC who is always up so early! But I was up, and hungry so I made mini- biscuits to go with my tea, and Hobbit-like, had my first breakfast!
My granddaughter shared this photo of our two oldest great-grands, carrying my late son Jon's picture in the annual Veterans day parade. Sadly, they never knew Jon, as he died when the oldest one was a baby.
The booths have dominated our time this week. We still have a lot to do to finish up getting the Christmas stuff out, but we have made good headway. This is our Ripley booth; i will be working on Ravenswood today. (Right now we are on our way home from Larry's early early appointment i. Charleston. We were on the road by 7. Next i need to drop off my PT paperwork so I can start therapy for my gand next week, then breakfast, then my haircut and pedicure, then booth work.)
I use red and green items to create a seasonal feel, which reduces how much actual decorating I have to do.
We moved this dropleaf table in a week ago. It didnt last long.
The added lights might look wonky but they sure help!
I got the idea to use cupcake containers for vintage balls from a Facebook group.
We will be getting some lights to the below area next. There is one outlet for our whole area, so we have a surge protector/ power strip that is providing additional plug-ins.
That's some of it, anyway. Still a bit more to do, probably tomorrow.
I was up in the wee hours, around 2am, to get photos of the aurora. Well, to try to. I missed the best time, I think, and didn’t have a good view of the north. I could have driven up on the ridge, but I was in my nightgown, it was cold, the van was cold, and I would have had every dog in a two-mile radius barking! So I didnt get anything fabulous, but it was fun to try. I like to never got warm again though.
When the drowsy old lady accidentally hit the wrong button and gets something definitely not starry!
While not as colorful, this one is my favorite.
