For Sale: A Few Acres of Beautful Mountain Land
For sale: 26-28 acres of ridgetop land in Jackson County, WV.
It's difficult to take a picture that takes in how pretty this land is, and how marvelous the view is. But if you've seen other photos on my blog of sunrises, moons, and snow-topped ridgeland, then you have an idea of what this land looks like.
Why are we selling it? Because we never use it. We have almost 80 acres, "more or less" according to the deed. Our house is located on the 50 acre parcel. We use that land and love it. This parcel is out of sight, out of mind. The guys occasionally hunt on it; our neighbors cut the hay, hunt and pick berries on it.
At one time we did use this tract. We fenced it and ran cattle on the pasture. We cut the hay and grew tobacco and sorghum up there. We occasionally picked berries and hunted its hollows. But that was then. Now we just don't need it any more. We checked with our sons first to be sure no one was thinking about building on it, and their response sealed our decision: sell. We're getting it surveyed so we know exactly what the acreage is--"more or less' seems kinda vague to me!
So if you'd like to own some very peaceful, secluded yet accessible land with good road frontage and building sites, electric, phone and natural gas access and great neighbors, our land might be something to consider. I'd love to have another good neighbor up here.
