...and the beginning of another.
Grandson Jared graduated last night. Now for the next step...starting college at Fairmont State University.
But pause the remote for a trip to Beach Week!
...and Granny said not to call her to come bail you out...mean granny...
Of course, if I was truly worried about it, I wouldn't say that.
We drove past the school last night during graduation. Lots of cars and traffic! I'm glad my kids didn't go on beach week, I'd worried too much, though I know they wouldn't do anything wrong.
ReplyDeleteThey are so handsome! Two more years and I'll have my first going out the door. She's been talking about Berea for 2 years!
ReplyDeleteJanet, I'm not sure there is anyone who actually enjoys a graduation ceremony--until it's over and everyone can get together and celebrate. for Derek, I'm sure it felt very good. Being a songle dad is tough, and being gone with the Guard so much makes ot even harder.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a great photo--CONGRATULATIONS to Jared and Derek and you too, and I'll be thinking of him during Beach Week (think I could use one of those myself...)
ReplyDeleteIt's nice he'll still be close to home even while at college. Fairmont's Folklore Studies classes were on my mind when house-shopping in West Virginia: I would *love* to go back to school again!

My youngest son went to Fairmont this year, Susan and he liked it. I believe he's going to transfer to WVU next year, though to get the degree he wants. But I'm with you, Fairmont's folklore studies degree is very cool. And they work with storytellers to put on the Storytelling Institute each year.
