I have not had time to write about our trip to Snowshoe Mountain except for the part about staying at the Brazen Head Inn. Here's a little more, and more will follow. So many good things to write about in this month! Our trip across West Virginia took us through Richwood, in Nicholas County. Not because it's the fastest way, but because we really like the scenery along that route. We especially like one roadside park along the Cherry River, and try to stop there for a picnic whenever we're traveling through.
A storm had passed through the night before, but someone had already been by to cut this large tree so the road to the little park was clear. Thanks to whoever did that.
Larry looked for a flat rock for Derek's under-construction patio, but he didn't find one that suited him.
Hey Granny Sue!
ReplyDeleteYou are one lucky lady getting to travel around our great West Virginia mountains during this time of the year! I really wanted to take a road trip up towards Canaan Valley but wasn't able to. Sigh.....
Anyway, I thought you might be interested in my fall leaf post that I recently posted. http://wvtreasures.blogspot.com/2009/10/fall-leaf-craft.html
Can't wait to see some great fall pictures from the mountains! I have taken a few good ones around my house that I plan to post real soon!
I'm very sad---not seeing any pictures at all! I refreshed twice; is it just me?
ReplyDeleteNo, it's Blogger being a pain again. I'll try again. Sorry, Susan!
ReplyDeleteHA! Larry's funny!
ReplyDeleteYou and Larry are birds of a feather, Warren ;-)
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeously wonderful pics!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love WV and have always dreamed of moving there since I was a little girl - just something about those hills. One day...
