  1. Neat ! I've seen a book for teachers filled with such photos of shapes and bright colors, no text. Teachers show a class of youngsters one of the photos and ask them to "tell the story" of the picture. A creative way to encourage children and get them ready for writing their own stories.
    Thank you !!

  2. OMG my mother used to have that same set of metallic colored glasses. I think they came from the auction at the stock sale in Moorefield. Well, our set did - I'm sure they were made somewhere far more sanitary.

  4. I loved all the photos! Great job, Grace! I was curious about the top left photo. I thought those were aluminum glasses but don't know that I ever saw any quite that shape. Tell more, sometime!

  5. I found the aluminum cups at a local antique store, Matthew and Nance. We had some like them when I was a child and I've always remembered the chilly beaded water that would trickle down their sidea when filled with a cold drink. These were a little pricey and it took me several months to get the price down. Even then, they were $23. But worth it to me for the memories and the pleasure my grandchildren get from using them--choosing a color and knowing that they won't break!
