  1. The lady's (of the house) dish pan must have sat in this window. You gotta have a window if you are washing dishes for a passel of children! But, I'm not sure what you mean . . . does "blue" keep the ghosts away?

  3. Exactly, Staci! Nance, many people belive evil spirits are repelled by blue (hence the blue bottle trees). In the south blue is often used to paint porch ceilings, and the name of the color used is called "Haint (Haunt) Blue", as Staci says.
