I couldn't resist this photo: the wind farm near Blackwater Falls is so close to the road that you round a curve, and there it is, seemingly right in the road in front of you.

I have similar pictures from the Beech Ridge Road area in Greenbrier County. Jim
ReplyDeleteisn't strange to see those everywhere? They're all over Kansas which is probably one of the best places to use them. I have a friend who even has one in their back yard to supplement their own electricity. Actually, they generate enough that they have extra power that they sell to the city - even then they say they'll never earn the money back that they put into it. And they built & put it up themselves.
ReplyDeleteWow! That is quite the photo! The first time I saw a wind farm in Kansas, I couldn't believe how large the mills were in real life. Just enormous!
