ReplyDeleteI know that some kinds of old glass fluoresce under black light. When an expert in American brilliant cut glass offered to take a look at the pieces my mother had collected, there was one plate that had a very rare pattern which had been often reproduced. The expert, his wife and I all crowded into a small windowless bathroom so that he could test it with his black light. Sure enough, it glowed yellow green. If it had been a reproduction, it wouldn't have glowed.
