68 this morning, cloudy. Rained overnight, partly sunny all day, humid again.
We have managed to do little picking lately---not the garden kind, but the kind that fills our booths in the antique malls. Here is some of what we've found:
Nice old oil lamp, and 2 unique Hall pottery teapots.
2 nice reproduction press-backed chairs.
1918 Victor Victrola that actually works, and came with an original Hank Williams record.
Another nice brass and glass oil lamp.
Nice large mixing bowl and cobalt blue Hall pottery ball pitcher.
Tomato cookie jar.
McCoy white apple cookie jar.
11 crocks, 4 with blue markings.
Another nice oil lamp, this one smaller and probably older.
Cute little decor camper, new but I hope it will sell anyway.
Several pieces of Williamsburg pottery, and Bavarian teacups, saucers and cake plates.
An awesome Pyrex casserole dish with matching lid,a Trenle Blake mug made in Ravenswood, WV, and another pieces of Williamsburg pottery.
Yet another Williamsburg piece, and a GlasBake casserole.
All of this came from 2 stops, one through a friend whose mother is moving to a smaller home, the other a thrift store. To say I am feeling lucky would be putting it mildly! Now to price and pack it all, the hardest part of what we do.
When I was doing pottery sales at arts and crafts fairs, the pricing and packing (all very carefully wrapped in bubble wrap) and then lugging the bins to and from vehicles before getting to the sales place...were very taxing, to say the least. A very good reason I quit doing them! As we get older we don't tend to become stronger. Wiser maybe, but not stronger!
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing set of finds, how wonderful that you got all of them from two places. I hope you are able to enjoy price and pack them all, I am sure that is a big job.
