18 this morning, frosty! Clear and sunny all day. Mud everywhere as the temperature rose above freezing.
A beautiful end to a good weekend. I took this photo this evening on our ridge, on my way to bellydancing class.
A contrast to this morning's cold, frosty look.
We spent Saturday visiting: first, brunch with a younger neighbor i have known since he was 2 years old. He's in his late 40s now and lost his wife just a couple weeks ago. It was good to spend time with him and his daughter, justbto talk.
That evening our son Derek and his daughter, her husband and 2 little ones came for dinner. I made sweet and sour stir-fry with venison, and an apple pie. My first time making sweet and sour sauce from scratch, and it was delicious. I enjoyed watching those little children play! And was reminded why motherhood is usually reserved for the young! One needs a lot of energy to keep up!
Today we started off slow, with apple pancakes and coffee. Larry went out to work on the tractor after it warmed up a bit, and I did some ebay listing and put the first coat of paint on a cabinet. I started to make strawberry jam as we are low on jams, but realized I had no jar lids. So when I went out this evening I picked up lids and jam- making will happen tomorrow.
This was the first bellydancing class, and I enjoyed it very much. We had done some of the routines at the candle dance and the broom dance, which led to this class forming. It will only meet a couple times a month. Quite a workout!
Sweet and sour venison sounds delicious. We'll have to try that when we get home!

DeleteOh I loved belly dancing class. I finally gave my scarf with all the medalions on it to a younger more energetic friend.
ReplyDeleteI ordered a scarf but it hasn't come yet. Fortunately the instructor has plenty of extras! We used veils too, so pretty and graceful. Well, I am not graceful but the scarf is!
DeleteI really enjoy it. I hope i can keep it up. Some moves are not easy and I can't sit on the floor. We shall see.
