36 this morning, another nice crisp day.
Garden work today, finally cleaning out my veggie garden and using the huge zinnia stalks as protective mulch for my leeks. There is still plenty of kale, Swiss chard and the Brussel sprouts, and one small head of cabbage. Oh, and carrots. Larry spread cardboard over a section of his garden and covered the cardboard with leaves. That garden needs some soul enrichment so we will be working on that over the winter.
Beyond that, I spent a few hours cleaning and pricing some of our auction buys. I am not feeling so great, apparently another little head cold. Just my luck.
But to the title of this post: a few photos taken Friday as we made our way home. The light was just so perfect.
A beautiful drive but I'll bet that fireplace felt good.
ReplyDeleteYour comment on my blog struck a nerve. We are of the same mind. No one of my immediate family served in the military but I have a grandson who did, honorably, and I celebrate him. It is definitely a conundrum.
Yes, it is something I struggle with. Politically I am also odd woman out with my sons but respect their views. We are all moderates in our political views which means there is often common ground. I wish our elected officials could do the same!
DeleteChilly, dry autumn weather is great! Hope you feel better soon. Maybe drink some ginger water, which always helps me to feel relaxed and warm. Have a wonderful week ahead, Sue.
ReplyDeleteThat is a good suggestion, Angie. I used to drink a lot of ginger tea. Time to get back to it!
DeleteThank you for that beautiful journey home - last pic included!
ReplyDeleteWish you could enjoy it with me Iris!
DeleteYour road back home is absolutely beautiful, just the kind of drive that makes your heart glow as you get closer.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very fine trip home. I like the second photo most of all with those impressive bare trees.
