42°f at 7 am, clear.
I may have been bored yesterday, but that sure changed around 11pm last night.
I took my melatonin at 10, and had just fallen asleep when I heard Larry get up and run for the bathroom. He was so sick! This continued until about 5am. Every half hour or so he was up and sick. Poor guy.
And of course I was up too. I could not help him, which was hard. But I put on a mask and cleaned and disinfected each time, opened doors and turned on fans, trying my best to drive out any scattered germs. Because right now the last thing I need is to sick like that. It feels odd to be so self- centered about it, but I must be. Will I avoid this awful bug? I don't know, but I did the best I could. Today Larry slept and drowsed until 2pm, waking only for some water and dry toast. Son Derek just dropped off Pedialyte, Gatorade, orange juice, and bless his heart, some Lindor chocolate for me. What a sweetheart!
I did manage to feed the dogs and the cat, and Larry is taking care of the rabbits and chickens now. Odds are he will go right back to bed when he's done. I hope so anyway. And right now I am going to try to take a nap. I sure can use it. But first, a few pics I took from the porch and deck on this beautiful autumn day.
Awful to say, but if it was a food related sickness, you are safe. And that is what it sounds like. I have had my husband do this, twice. Once from a restaurant and once from food we brought in. Anyway, I hope he is better and that you are not too wiped either.
ReplyDeleteApparently this is a virus that's going around, Mary. It too 24 hours to completely clear. Poor guy is definitely cleaned out! But this morning he's feeling almost like his usual self.
DeleteOh no, not another sicky to deal with. So glad it seems to have been the 24 hour bug...and you're safe from it for now. It could have also just been something he ate, but with a whole night of sickness, it sounds more viral, in my humble opinion. Glad he's up and outside doing things. You both need plenty of fluids and naps!
ReplyDeleteYes, was a virus, Barb. He's much better, though feels a little weak. No wonder!
Delete...I'm sorry to hear this, feeling sick ain't pleasant!
ReplyDeleteHe was one sick puppy! Much better today.
DeleteOH NO!!!! Honestly, this is the last thing you need. I hope that it is not contagious, whatever it is. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI know. I prepared last night...bucket by my bed, wipes, clear path to the bathroom. But so far so good. Fingers crossed!
DeleteI'm sorry Larry caught some awful bug and I sure hope you don't catch it too! Talked to my sister and she had something very similar...it lasted 2 days. Anyway, if you can sit out on the porch, even wrapped in a blanket, you have a great view to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteApparently it's going around here, GM. I figured that outside was better than in with the germs, lol. And it was the perfect day for porch-sitting!
DeleteHope you're soon feeling better, Larry.
ReplyDeleteHe's much better today, John. I passed on your message!
DeleteOh no, poor Larry! Hopefully you stay healthy. The photos with the fall colors a beautiful!
ReplyDeleteDoing my best to stay clear of it, Jim!
Delete.
ReplyDeleteWhat did Larry eat for the dinner? Yesterday he was still okay...the autumnal views are amazing.
ReplyDeleteHe ate lunch, same thing I had. Then popcorn in the evening. We skipped dinner as neither of us were that hungry. I had an apple.
DeleteI hope that Larry is recovering and you remain well. It sounds awful. What a beautiful day you showed us. Our leaves are about in the same stage of starting to turn.
ReplyDeleteIt was a perfect autumn day, June. I hated that Larry missed most of it. He slept almost all day. But much better today, thank goodness.
DeleteI'm glad it was just a 24 hour bug - keeping my fingers crossed that you are spared! Your photos are gorgeous! I can just imagine sitting at that table sipping on a cuppa tea and enjoying that view!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that Larry is better today--and I hope you are safe from the virus. What a nightmare! Not what you need right now. I hope your recovery is going well. Keep icing that knee--it'll help with the swelling.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that Larry is doing better. Being sick, no matter what it is, is not very nice. Hope you can get some rest.
ReplyDeleteNo fun for either of you. Glad to read he's on the mend and you haven't caught it too.
ReplyDeleteNot something you need, for sure. I hope Larry is well today.
ReplyDeleteIt is looking good there, and you are getting better too. Me, AC.
