Ugh

55°f, light showers, overcast.

What else is there to say? So many really think they are going to thrive economically under this administration,  and blinded themselves to the chaos we will now have to endure.

Hunker down, friends. I think we are in for a very rough ride.

  1. I think there will be a very rude awakening for many good folk.

  2. As a Canadian I have no opinion. Our own government is enough of a headache. GM

  3. Our economy will go down under him, also. And Ukraine will suffer as well. I didn´t expect this outcome...

    1. I did, Iris. She was just too liberal, and too female, for the majority of voters. Why this country fears a woman leader confounds me.

  4. The future looks very bleak - dystopian almost. Who can begin to comprehend turning over health care to Kennedy? Elon Musk seems determined to inflict misery on everyone. The Affordable Care Act is in jeopardy….and on and on it goes.

    1. Absolutely frightening. So many seniors voted for him, and apparently never heard about his plans that will drastically affect their wellbeing.

  5. Well, I thought that's what most Americans wanted?

    1. Apparently so, Angie, since they voted for him. If he carries through on all the things he has said he will do, however, the results are going to be very hard on many of the very ones who voted him in. Time will tell. I absolutely abhor the man. He has no morals, no ethics, is a rapist and convicted felon, a liar and can't string together 3 coherent thoughts. But his admirers see him as a strong man, a rebel, and that appeals to many. All we can do is wait and see.

  6. It is so hard to see people celebrating this. Actually celebrating. They won't understand my grief until they get bitten too. An so I wait. My nephew said, "If they try to implement the stuff that they are saying, we will fight them." Me: "Don't you see that simply keeping them out of power would be far easier?" He didn't.

    1. My grandson James, a union electrician, actually voted for him, even though it was Biden and Harris who created the very job he currently holds. Go figure.

  7. Yes, a very rough ride that will affect the entire world.

  8. Exactly. Exactly, exactly, exactly. There will be a lot of disappointment. We'll make it. And we need to regroup. Right now, we grieve, we cope, and then we put on our big girl pants and get to work.

  9. Thinking of you across the pond, a hard day for so many. A hard four years ahead. I hope it is not too awful.

  10. I'm on the other side of the fence from you on this one. It's been such chaos since covid hit. I felt safer & more secure when Trump was president. Everything is so much harder now than then; so much more unrest not just in the US but in the world. We're more divided than ever.
I do hope we can find some middle ground. You might check out the #walkaway movement to get the perspective of many former Democrats on this. I know there are many who are afraid. I hope time will show that most of these fears are unfounded.

I'm so glad Trump won but the pain I see in some parts of the country takes away all joy in the win. I'm just relieved more than anything. And I hope that we can all voice our opinions now without fear of losing jobs or friendships anymore.
