57°, light showers. Yay! Full moon last night.
For those of you who were wondering, yes! We did find the brewery, and it was jyst across the street from our hotel.
The beer Larry remembered so well was a dark wheat beer, with a taste very like Guinness. He may have had a glass or two. Or three.
It was a nice place, very friendly people. We chatted a good while with one couple from St. Clarksville who were also in town for the weekend, and had a long conversation with a man who began working there after retirement. We found sad common ground in that he too had lost a son in an accident.
This sign made me laugh. I am not a big drinker and don't like beer, but I did enjoy spending time at this place.
One of the seats facing the window. Larry would not sit in it!
He did sit in this one though, which is basically the hind end of a horse. I am not commenting on that!
Outside, the Firemen's Parade started up. It is just what it sounds like, lots of fire and rescue vehicles, lights flashing and horns blaring. The kids along the street loved it, and it lasted all of, oh, about 5 minutes.
It's great to start the day with a chuckle and I sure had one when I read about Larry sitting in that particular chair LOL.
ReplyDeleteWe once visited a pub where all the bar stools were saddles. That may have been in Jackson Hole near Yellowstone.
I like that sign. I enjoy a nice dark beer!!
We had such a good time there, GM. Just fooling around, laughing, meeting people. Just fun.
DeleteI am not much of beer drinker either although I might have had one. Come to think of it, I am not much of a drinker, period.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a drinker, either, but that looks like a fun place.
ReplyDeleteI do love the taste of a dark Guinness. Sounds like a good time.
ReplyDeleteIt was nice, Michelle.
DeleteDid you take the seat next to Larry? (just asking or a friend) 😄
ReplyDeleteHahaha, no. Not sure my round-y posterior would fit!
DeleteGlad the beer was so easy to find. How much did you take home?
ReplyDeleteNone! He decided not to buy any to bring home so if he wants it again,, I guess it means a road trip!
DeleteI like dark beer, very occasionally, so would have enjoyed sipping a bit of that brew.
ReplyDeleteThose seats are hilarious! Looks like a fun day!
ReplyDeleteThe horse one is nice. We don't drink beer...I sometimes use it to cook though.
ReplyDeleteLove those chairs! I drank a Guinness once. I made it home and straight to bed, LOL. I was so darn tired!
ReplyDelete...I reemember a restaurant on Columbus, OH with "leg stools!"
