71°f/20.7°C, rain all day. It was lovely!
The courthouse is lit up with purple, I suppose for Halloween. We could not make out the figure holding the scales of justice, but I suppose it must be Lady Justicia?
The streets were mostly quiet, a few people about...
Aha! A remainder from history, glass tiles that allowed light into the basement below. How i would have liked to explore down there!
Inside the hotel at last, and up to bed around midnight.
The Hotel Millersburg is reported to be haunted, and we heard quite a few tales from staff and other guests. I did not sleep well, not unusual for me the first night away from home, so I was often awake and listening. I did hear a few things: someone moving around in the room beside us, which was empty, a faint mewing of a cat (the hotel is supposed to be haunted by a cat), and something/someone scratching at a door or wood somewhere in our house. Easy explanations for all of it, perhaps, but still, it does make one wonder!
Love the lights, but the missing brick?! Huh! You... did? Stuckk your hand in?! I´d never dare, LOL.
ReplyDeleteAnd that hotel...!
To the other post... WOW such a huge room! A rather scary place!
There is something about night photography that appeals to me.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen glass tiles like that. I'm going to pay attention now because they've probably been around. I can just imagine you lying awake at night making up stories to tell with the sounds you heard in the haunted hotel.
ReplyDelete...so you are a night owl?
ReplyDeleteCool to hear about what you heard in the night, and I hope you caught up on your sleep the next night! Ghosts and goblins are all over the place this month. The night lighting on the buildings is also neat, but that brick in the ladies is certainly one for a good story inspiration!
ReplyDeleteInteresting that you experienced some of the sounds mentioned about the hauntings.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like your time has continued on with great fun. I love the lights and that hotel looks and sounds fascinating!
ReplyDeleteI'd be wary sleeping there! Looks like the town is ready for Halloween.
