Snow Moon, Valentines, and Booths

22°f, -5.5°C, clear. Light snow in the evening has disappeared. Yesterday was cloudy, light rain, with temps falling from 41 in the morning to 32 by 5pm. 

Happy Valentine's Day to all who celebrate! And if you don't, there are apparently many other ways to mark the day. From the National Days of the Year site:

Start your day by donating gently-used books to a local library or school to celebrate literacy. Then, treat yourself to a cream-filled chocolate while reading a book to honor International Book Giving Day and National Cream-Filled Chocolates Day. Consider attending a sound healing session or simply take a moment to listen to soothing music on World Sound Healing Day. Show your love for animals by volunteering at a local animal shelter on Pet Theft Awareness Day. Afterwards, have a heart-to-heart with a friend or family member on Have a Heart Day. Some of these actually sound more interesting than hearts and chocolate!

Anyway, we finally had some clearing of the cloud cover last night, and the moon was riding high. Just beautiful outside, even if cold. I tried as usual with not much success to get pictures, and these are the best I could do.

Well,  I tried.

Yesterday we had to go out for dog food, so we did our booth work too, as I try to keep trips to town to a minimum. It was an easy day; we didn't have a great deal to do, but I did manage to empty 4 totes, adding new smalls to each location. 

Instead of Valentine's Day hearts and such, I did a few displays featuring pink.

Oh, and red and lavender too.

These are called swung vases, which refers to the way the glass is shaped to make these vases. I somehow ended up with a collection of them, so downsized my personal collection and put these in the booth a while back.

Another swung vase that brings a surprisingly high price. This color is highly prized by those into midcentury decoration.

And here is the shelf I finished up the other day. The chest of drawers behind it sold yesterday.

I added two boudoir lamps to the dressing table yesterday. The shades are what's called "new old stock", or NOS. They were made in the 60s but were still in their original packaging.

Old telephone make a cool addition to decor.

These valentines are new reproduction of old vintage ones. I have sold many this year. The dresser set below the valentines is from the 1930s, and made of celluloid. 

Ink wells and vintage desk items, most from a recent auction.

Time to make breakfast! French toast today, I think. Then back to painting furniture and maybe do some ebay listings. We shall see!
