23°f, overcast and flurries blowing around.
Yep, it's cold out there, so we are all in here. Everyone but the chickens, that is. I have to draw the line somewhere.
I am not sure how we started out with outside pets that seem to be becoming inside pets. I blame my husband, who will let them all in at the drop of a hat or a degree in temperature. I don't like or want inside pets, for several reasons, foremost being allergies. But, here they are.
It's not as if they don't have the heated workroom where then can go in and out as they like. They do, and they can, but they don't. They want to be in here with us.
Honestly, when it's this cold, I don't mind (too much). But the doors open and close all day as this one or that wants out or in. Suddenly we have become the hotel doorman. And the hotel maid, apparently, as there is much cleanup behind such hairy guests. Thankfully they are fairly short-haired so don't shed as much as some.
Buddy of the crazy eyes that are blue on the bottom, brown on top. Only the blue shows here.
Still, there is something calm and restful about dogs--and a cat who thinks he's a dog--stretched out in front of a stove. The old girl Daisy groans with pleasure, Little Boy snores, and Buddy stretches luxuriously while Clyde the cat sleeps with one eye on them all.
Just another cold December day in the house that doesn't have housepets.
We all need company at times..good thing you have hard floors and rugs, easy clean!
ReplyDeleteTruth! The mop is my best friend these days.
DeleteYour little puppy has really grown!
ReplyDeleteHe has! He may end up the biggest one of all.
Delete...these fur buddies seem to have a charmed life.
ReplyDeleteYes they do. Very well loved.
DeleteYour 4-legged friends look nice and comfy.
ReplyDeleteWell, so was i, kicked back in ky favorite chair!
DeleteWe had cats and there was nothing better than a cat purring on my lap. However, I discovered I was allergic to them, so after the last one died we haven't gotten any more. :(
ReplyDeleteI hear you. It is so hard to be allergic. I was terribly allergic to our old boy Otis and could only be around him a few minutes at a time. I still have allergies, but these guys don't trigger them as badly, thank goodness.
DeleteOh yes, those fur babies just want to be with their people, and where it's warm, but maybe time to go check outside, no, let me back in...over and over! Keeps you agile, no?
ReplyDeleteYes indeed! And mopping!
