This is in one of our state parks, Batsy, called Beartown. I've got some wonderful pictures of that place. The park has an interesting history, too. A young man from Huntington, WV used to go there to hike and camp when it was private property. He got drafted and sent to Vietnam, where he was killed. His family bought the property and donated it to the state for a park in his memory. I think of him every time I look at the photos or go to Beartown.
There are some cool little critters there called fairydiddles that are found only in a limited area of West Virginia--sort of a cross between a flying squirrel and a chipmunk. They're very cute, with huge eyes. I tried to find a photo of them online without any luck, and I haven't been able to take one myself yet.
