Spring flowers! I learned from my mother that bringing flowers into the house brightens the whole day, and even if the house is untidy flowers just make everything look better.
Lily-of-the Valley and periwinkle make a nice combination. The Lily-of-the-Valley is so fragrant you'd have to smell it to believe it.
Lilacs and violets co-exist in peace in the kitchen.
Close-up of the violets. I love the variety of shades, and the pure white hearts in these.
So pretty. It's going to drive me nuts now. You look so familiar to me. You wouldn't happen to know any Bowling family members would you?
ReplyDeleteNot that I know of, ssb. Were they from West Virginia, or northern Virginia?
ReplyDeleteLove your little butterfly!
Love the Lily of the Valley. My grandmother had a bed of them in a border of periwinkle outside the front porch. Sweet memories.

Isn't that odd--that's the way they are in one of my gardens too. The periwinkle covers the ground, and the lilies are above it. It's nice combination--when I can keep gill-over-the-ground out of it!
ReplyDeleteI can hardly wait for my lilic's to bloom. Tulips and Lilic's are my favorite flowers. Whoops- I forgot roses, and then there's verbena--Oh never mind, I can't choose a favorite. Love sweet peas's also. I need help.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
