Snow blanketed January
February garden plowing and lettuce beds were begun
March came in cold and frosty and stayed colder than normal
but by month's end we were eating creasey greens.

Then came April,
with her soft breezes and blooms, and May

and the family reunion, complete with a serious junking trip with all 8 sisters.

June, sweet June, brought lavender and lettuce and berries and
many good times with friends at festivals and conferences.
July was a month of storytelling, canning, and just trying to keep up with the burgeoning gardens,

while August

took us to new places as we journeyed to Big Stone Gap, Virginia to enjoy the Celtic Festival and seeing friends,

and September went under the mountains as we toured a coal mine.

October brought more storytelling

and we finished the canning and in November and had a small but lovely Thanksgiving with our youngest son.

Then came December and a new program of carols and stories

and Christmas with family, a joyous time

There are more things to share; more posts that review the past year will be coming as I think about what happened and what it meant. so many moments, so many new things we saw, and so many things to think about.

Wishing all my friends a  year of light, love, laughter and learning!
